In our view, this is one of the best value Club functions each year - and is routinely sold out!  The coaching staff and a number of high profile players, make that multiple premiership players, are usually in attendance and the whole evening is a fun-filled relaxing experience.  There are a number of main and silent auctions offering a range of items and there is sure to be something for everyone.  Definitely an event not to be missed.

DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED FOR 2012

In 2011 our pre-game function was the lead-in to the Cats v Hawks game at the MCG and, although subject to confirmation, 2012 is lkely to see a repeat.  The format for 2011 was the same as for previous years, with traditional footy food provided, a casual and relaxed atmosphere and a couple of interesting speakers.  Our speakers this time were Frank Costa and Marc Woolnough.  As usual, past player Jason Snell was our Master of Ceremonies. The cost of attending this function included a reserved seat outside the function room on level 2 and was a great opportunity to make a group up and all sit together at the footy!  The cost per person was only $50 for adult Metrocats members and $25-00 for junior MetroCats members ($5 extra per person for non-members).  As for all previous MetroCats pregame functions, we were able to celebrate yet another great win from our boys.  Fantastic day and result!

Here are a few pics from the function:

Marc Woolnough was our second speaker:

Melbourne Junior Football Clinic

Wesley College, St Kilda

2011 Report: Despite the wet weather, GFC players (Cam Mooney, James Podsiadly, Cam Guthrie, Josh Hunt, Taylor Hunt, Tom Hawkins, Mitch Brown, Billie Smedts, Joel Corey, Jack Weston, Nathan Vardy, Brad Ottens, Daniel Menzel, Shannon Byrnes, Josh Cowan and Marcus Drum) were in attendance to put junior members through their paces in a range of activities including tackling, handball and goal kicking.  Yet again, the Melbourne and Geelong clinics provided many hundreds of young fans with a wonderful up close experience with the players. Little wonder the clinics are extremely popular and you need to book early with the Club to secure a place.
