MetroCats activities are based on the 3 F's:
Our main aim is to promote GFC membership and help "support" Melbourne-based members. One way we do this is by encouraging and helping the GFC to hold events and functions in Melbourne for Melbourne-based supporters.
Unlike GFC members and supporters who live in Geelong and the surrounding area, Melbourne-based supporters do not get saturation coverage of the club on K-Rock and the Geelong Advertiser or the opportunity to attend the many events and functions held at Geelong.
It is estimated that GFC has over 250,000 "supporters" residing in Melbourne, far more than reside in the Geelong and surrounding areas. Based on figures for 2006, the then 8,500+ Melbourne-based Members represented about 30% of the total GFC Membership. Clearly, there is plenty of scope for an improved Melbourne-based representation across our membership and MetroCats is very keen to help with this. Ideas to help promote our Club and the value of membership are always welcome.
If you reside in Melbourne and are not yet a GFC member, why not join up now? Membership need not be expensive and does directly help our Club. As our Coach says:

Our goal in 2010 is to continue to do everything we can to give ourselves the best chance of winning another premiership. We want you to be there every step of the way, so share our journey and make Geelong Cats your team.
Success for our club cannot be achieved without our Members and Supporters and we need you on board in 2010. There will be many challenges ahead for us and we will meet every one of them with conviction, precision, unity and respect.
